Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.

I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.

I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Eye Pot Planter WIP

Finished 21-Eye Flower Pot

This is made with an alternate technique for slab pots.  I've used it before to make level pots, but this one came out lopsided.

Tardigrade 19 WIP

Air Force Object

I recently visited with some of my extended family and several of them gave me commissions, the family kind of commission that I don't ask to be paid for.  One of my uncles requested something to do with the Navy or Air Force, which is about as far away from my regular content as possible.  I made a refrigerator magnet in the shape of an Air Force symbol.

Angel Commission WIP

This is a commission for a relative.  She wanted something with angel wings and specifically didn't want an Angel of Death.

Candle Holder Commission WIP

Finished Candle Holder With Demon Face

I had a commission to make a candle holder.  The design was left up to me and I chose another image from Huber's Treasury of Fantastic and Mythological Creatures, a demon face from an embroidered apron from Sikkim.

Red Eye Pot 2

I had a commission to recreate the Red Eye Pot and this is the result.  I think it's a pretty good copy.
