Finished Wizard of Oz Project
A few years ago I made a series of clay objects for my nephew based on the classic children's book Mog the Forgetful Cat. I wanted to make something for my younger nephew and the plan had been to make something based on the Elephant and Piggie books. I was prepared to do this, but I have no personal connection to the series. My sister recently informed me that both boys are into The Wizard of Oz. I loved L. Frank Baum's Oz novels when I was younger and I was happy to have a project that I would enjoy as much as the nephews.
These are clay drawings of the main non-human characters of the movie The Wizard of Oz and the first book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.
I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.
I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.
I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.
