Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.

I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.

I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Cave Painting Collage WIP

This is a background for the Lovers Tarot card.  It's a little jumbled and random and I'm planning on doing another one with a simpler design.  I made a lot of stamps for it, including some beholders and grell, but I couldn't fit them all on.

These are angels to fly above the main figures in the Lovers Tarot card.

These Kerubim incorporate Thoth, ibis-headed Egyptian god of knowledge and writing.

Star Cup

I feel naked because I can't blame this piece on any popular culture franchises.

Yorick With the Bad Teeth

Yorick is named for the character from Sam and Friends, Jim Henson's first TV show from the 1950s, who was probably named for the dead guy in the garden from Hamlet.  The design is an interpretation of a Play-Doh toy called Dr. Drill N Fill.  It was a plastic head that opened wide so you could make teeth out of Play-Doh and pretend to drill cavities.

It's meant to be one of the toys on the shelf in the Angry Mophead story.
