It's also a rattle.

Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.
I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.
I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.
I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Pizzaface Mug
I considered glazing the entire mug in the colors of the Italian flag but I didn't want to be accused of cultural misappropriation (again).

The Tale of Two Bad Acid Tongue Mice
The Tale of Two Bad Mice was the most disturbing of Beatrix Potter's quaint little animal stories. A kitten gets lost in the attic of a big house and the mice capture her and try to roll her into a dumpling.

Dead-Eyed Caroler Mug
I bought this monstrosity at a flea market in New Jersey around 1995. I got rid of most of my chaotic kitsch decor from that time, but I can't let this one go. I'm fascinated that someone thought these pale scary children would look festive and Christmasy. My confession: I blackened their eyes to make them look more macabre.
Zombie Jesus Love Cup
My first Zombi Jesus Love Cup from 2014. This one is better and that's why I've included so many photos of it.
Anthraxus Column
Anthraxus is a being from the outer planes from Dungeons and Dragons. Anthraxus was a daemon, not a demon, not a devil, but a different kind of evil outsider with the head of a diseased ram.
Golden Apple Spirit Figure
For the Temperance Tarot card. I encountered this avatar of the goddess Eris in the woods at night in Pennsylvania 30 years ago.
