Aberrant Ceramics is the artwork of Aaron Nosheny,
ceramic artist and potter in Tucson, Arizona.

I work in the medium of stoneware clay and make hand-built pottery, sculpture, hamsas, ornaments, masks, and a variety of other forms.

I’m a self-taught autistic artist working in my medium for over twenty years. I like monsters, insects, weird animals, body horror, folk horror, horror comedy, horror in general, Halloween decorations, fast food mascots, kitsch – all of these creep into my work, but there’s really no overarching theme.

I am in love with my medium. I love the process of frantically birthing clay monstrosities, subjecting them to an epic trial by fire, and sending them out into the world.

Rocky Trinketry Project

Trying without the partially visible top tooth and little corner of bottom tooth.

Trying this again. I was thinking that I needed to make the reverse image. If I make a mold of the reverse image and then press the mold into clay, I'll end up with the orignal image, which is backwards.

This is collaged over the peg-toothed mold directly below it. It's a little closer to what I want, but it needs to be reversed if it's going to be used as a mold.

Molded versions did not come out as hoped.

I want a faithful stamp of the lips that sing the opening number of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
